Batavia Girls Track and Field Team Named 2022 ILXCTF Girls Relay Program of the Year
2022 was a fun and historic season for our Bulldog Girls Track & Field Team! Both our Girls & Boys teams have made history, and we congratulate both programs! Congrats to the boys for winning the 3A State Title!!
We went undefeated on the season for the first time in our girls’ team history. That includes all Indoor and Outdoor Invitationals. During the most competitive portion of our season, our Bulldogs won the Kane County Invite, defended our Conference Title, and won the IHSA Sectional Meet (second year in a row). These accomplishments are historic as it is our first Triple Crown (the Triple Crown is winning the final three most competitive invitational meets before the state meet).
At the IHSA Sectional meet, the only opportunity to qualify for the IHSA State Meet, we qualified for nine events and brought 16 student-athletes down to State at Eastern IL University.
At the Girls IHSA State Meet Series, we had an excellent showing with 6 All-State Finishers/Medalists. Overall at State, our Girls Team finished 12th – the 3rd highest team performance in program history!
Here are our All-State Medalists/Finishers:
- High Jump: Meghann Hartmann – 8th place
- 3200: Katrina Schlenker – 4th place (she set a new school record!)
