$140 Million Referendum on November 8th Ballot
The Batavia Public School District 101 Board of Education is asking residents to vote on a $140 million bond referendum on the Nov. 8 election ballot. Passage of the referendum will allow the board to issue school building bonds and generate funds for capital improvements without increasing the district’s bond and interest property tax levy. The revenue generated by this proposal will lead to District-wide improvements at every one of the District’s schools. The referendum includes recommendations from the Building Our Future Together community engagement process. Projects funded by the bonds include replacing H.C. Storm and Louise White elementary schools that are not cost-effective to renovate, replacing roofs, HVAC, piping, windows, doors and other operational maintenance needs, adding secured entrance vestibules and improving spaces for special education
