At BPS101, we take our mission very seriously: Empowering every student to achieve their unique potential through an equitable and personalized experience that supports post pre-K – 12 pathways.

All of our staff members have all dedicated themselves to ensuring that our learning environments are productive, safe, and supportive. Their efforts help the nearly 5,200 students find their passions, engage in challenging work, and develop into educated, caring citizens.

The District’s administrative office is housed in the Rosalie Jones Administration Center at 335 W. Wilson Street in Batavia. General questions can be submitted to help@bps101.net.

The District is governed by the Board of Education and led by Superintendent Tom Kim.

History

Batavia is among the oldest communities in the Fox Valley, having been settled in 1833, a full year before the City of Chicago. Once considered the fringe of the Chicago metro area, Batavia has matured into one of the premier communities of the western suburbs.

Since its inception in 1911, Batavia Public School District No. 101 has been a beacon of educational innovation and community involvement. Initially founded through the unification of the east and west side school districts, BPS101 set an early standard for community-centric education. Fast forward to today, the District continues to be at the forefront of educational innovation, incorporating state-of-the-art technology and pedagogical methods into its comprehensive curriculum. Catering to diverse learning needs, BPS101 provides an array of academic options ranging from special needs programs to dual-credit courses. With its steadfast commitment to academic rigor, character building, and civic responsibility, BPS101 distinguishes itself as a leader in educational excellence within the Fox Valley region.
