Batavia High School Students Invited to Apply for New Student Representative Role

As part of a new initiative to bring student voice to the table, Batavia Public School District 101 is inviting Batavia High School students to apply to serve as Student Representatives on the Board of Education.

The Student Representative serves in an advisory role, attending Board of Education meetings, sharing student perspectives, and helping inform decisions that impact the entire school community. This position provides students with a meaningful leadership experience while offering a direct connection between students and district leadership.

Student Representatives collaborate with peers, connect with student councils at all grade levels, and work closely with school and district leaders to ensure that student voice is included in important conversations. The role also includes preparing and presenting reports to the Board and participating in leadership opportunities throughout the year.

Current Sophomores and Juniors who are in good academic standing and meet extracurricular eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates are strong communicators, responsible leaders, and passionate about representing their peers.

Applications, including a staff member’s letter of recommendation, are due by April 20, 2026. Finalists will be selected for interviews, and the chosen Student Representative(s) will be seated at a Board of Education meeting in June.

Students interested in applying can access the full application and details here.
